Lately i have been a busy gal!

Organizing this charity fashion show has been a lot of work but so much fun and i’ve gotten help from some incredible people. Here’s the press release for the show and pictures of the exclusive dresses by these amazing designers available only for auction at the show.

~Orphanage Detail~

There is a small village 20 miles west of Maseno, just north of the lakeside city, Kisumu, in Western Kenya where due to AIDS pandemic, a lot of children have been orphaned and they have no relatives or any means of support to even meet their basic necessities of food, clothing, shelter and education. The Maseno Project is an intimate charity whereby people’s donations make significant impact on particular lives.

Today saturday, may 24th 2008 at 2pm slt, SL Illustrated will be showcasing the divine fashions of Miss Alba Rossini of Alba Fashions. Alba is a wonderful woman and a creative designer, too few people know about her, in my honest opinion. Her store in Asha is lovely and her designs are beautiful, it is our goal to give Alba a little more exposure, because her talent is evident through her designs. Come to the fashion show on Saturday, May 24th at 2pm SLT in the SL Illustrated sim and you will see for yourself the beauty that is Alba Rossini!!

SL Illustrated is made up of a bunch of great people, the CEO is Ted1 Kamachi, he owns the sim and he manages to keep us all on our toes. The COO is Ariel Lingiuan, she handles the day to day operations, keeps things running smoothly. Dadaist Gears is the SL Illustrated Magazine Editor and he does a wonderful job each month putting out a great magazine.
Madison Sullivan is the Modeling Director for SLI Models, she has been a model in SL for about 1 1/2 years. She helps to organize fashion shows, holds modeling classes and helps the models with anything that they need. Lava Lavesseur, our new Head of PR at SL Illustrated, is a very wonderful woman, she talks to designers and also helps to organize the shows.

Today I will be there modeling then family come see me!!!

Since SecondLife wont connect for me this afternoon, I wanted to use this SL-free opportunity to write about my latest obsession that aren’t -necessarily- fashion related but I use them as such. A few weeks ago, I discovered these free urban items (houses, props, etc) available in-world and via SLexchange. I use these to create dynamic sets for my blog photoshoots.

One such set was “West Harlem” and my latest is called “Around the way girl” inspired by my girlhood crush LL (Ladies Love) Cool J. If you don’t know which song I’m talking about, check it out here. If you do know, then you’re four kinds of awesome.

Okay again I am at JCNY CONTEST, this time called my atention the sponsors and how the contest is being hold.

I’m kicking it old school today, in more ways than one, but most specifically I’m referring to blogging about breakout designers that you may not know. Kendall Freenote, a first life design student, has been designing in SL from her very first day. Her first store, Trend and Co, featured some of the hottest designs straight from the streets of NYC to the sims of SL. Carrie Bradshaw, eat your heart out! Trend and co carries really chic handbags as well as awesome clothes. And the prices are much lower than I expected to pay (but don’t tell her that.)Recently, Kendall has opened a brand new fashion boutique called {L’Arouge}.At Kendall’s brand new sleek and stylish location features equally brand-spanking-new styles. Enough of my chatter let these hot styles do the talking.

To showcase these designs, I took my new friend (photographer Demure Aeon) down to the beautiful Cuba Sim at Emvee. This widely popular sim was packed with models and photographers taking photos I hope others are too sick of looking at it yet.

It’s my first official post as part of this wonderful Modavia team, and I could not be more thrilled to have been selected to join this group of talented Models, Photographers, PR and Marketing Persons, Management and above all good friends. Anyone who has taken the time to chat me up while on the job can tell you that I am a generally fun loving person, I work hard at what I do and I try my best to build a reputation as a reliable model who is easy to work with. I love blogging, most notably my shoe blogging over at On Your Toes, but I rarely get a chance to talk about all the other things that make me so very happy.

Lately one of the things I have really been experimenting with is skins, for a very long time I only wore one series of skins and I still wear them… but with the addition of windlight to my little virtual world I found that I was looking at skins for different qualities. I must have one of those shapes that makes it very hard to find skins that suit it, but as soon as I found Linda and Crys by PXL, I knew I was in love.

With the upcoming release of the latest in the Linda line, Linda Dark, I jumped at the chance to have a sneak peak and share what I love so much about these skins. When Sunrae Moonbeam  answered my plea for a chance to preview the skins I was in bliss. The amazing lips on these skins give me such a perfect pout, even on the lighter lip shades like the gold (above and center) the lip remains well defined and doesn’t melt into the rest of the face even in the brightest of light. The eye options are appealing, and as much as I would love to see some colorful options I do have to admit that the well lined smokey eyes would be worn the most anyhow.

The bodies are well defined without too much muscularity and the skin tones offered are versatile and there is something for every taste. Which brings us to the Linda Dark, a delicious dark skin that although might not be shown to it’s best on my petite features, is definitely all the great things about Linda prior and adds a nice depth to complete this range of creamy skin tones.

What a great time at the Nicky Ree Spring Ball!  So many Super’s working the posestands, such fun and what fantastic designs! You’re going to love Nicky’s new creations and even Jonny got in on some of the action!

I’m wearing Nicky Ree’s Elegant Laura Gown in Raven and Fleur Vivant Bronze Laura Skin, complimented with Alienbear Design Carita Collection….you’ll have to ask the others what they’re wearing, I’m sure they want to let everyone know as well but I’m sneeking in pics of them anyway…lol.

I am VERY excited and anxoius on seeing how the Designer’s Directory will look like. I would just like to PUBLICLY thanx Kurvy Rhode for her excellent attitude, exceptional support, and extreme professionalism in our shoot! This is because I’ve been having lots of problems with SL in my computer and she had the all the patience and kind words to make this shoot hopefully,… UNIQUE!
