<3C! CupCakes

Posted on June 4th, 2008 in Keely LeFavre, Modavia Supermodels by Keely LeFavre

Since, I’ve been busy organizing shows and learning new graphics programs my shopping has really been slipping lately. What better way to get back into the groove of things by posting about a sale at one of my favorite dress stores “<3C! CupCakes” This is a fantastic sale/mini hunt at the main store in popfuzz. I’m not sure how long the sale has been going on or when it will end; I learned about it very randomly. But woot! What a sale. In the whole store there were only about 3 items that were more than 100L everything else ranged between 25-75L. And there are many hidden freebies mixed with the sale items (that’s the mini-hunt part). Here’s a collage of some of the cute dresses I found.

Maseno Charity Fashion Show and Auction: Post-Show notes

It was an incredible weekend. The Charity fashion show went beautifully. I was thrilled with the results the models were great despite all of the many attachment issues. But regardless of the fantastic clothes and great production, what really touched me where the people. People really opened up their heart to this cause; it was so moving I was shaking by the generosity of everyone who attended. We raised a grand total of $317, 586L that day all of which will go directly to the people of the Maseno Orphanage. Abbie has had a trip planned to Kenya for a few months, she’ll be leaving July 1st, and we’ve decided to do one more charity show towards the end of the month. Abbie’s going to take all of the money we raised directly to orphanage. It should be a very moving trip for her and I’m envious that I don’t get to see it as well, but all that matters is the good that is done. She’ll return to us with many pictures and notes from the children. I’m really looking forward to it.

Here is a fab group picture from the event. Follow this link to view all of the pictures taken by Greg Paslong.

West Harlem

Posted on May 6th, 2008 in Modavia Supermodels by Keely LeFavre

In an attempt to switch things up a bit ( and alleviate boredom) my friends and I have began doing a series of “scenes” in which we will convey different moods and looks.  Mostly to see if we can but also because we can’t resist dressing up in front of the camera.   The photos in these groups wont have an introduction or anything. Just simple SL style and beauty along with a title, names of models, and outfit details.  Now, the lack of text is subject to change since I usually find it hard to shut the heck up.

The first photo of this series is called “West Harlem”. More because of the way we look than the way the set looks.  The lovely Abbie Reinard is modeling in black on the left and I’m in multicolor on the right.

Photographer: Greg Paslong

Posted on May 3rd, 2008 in Azu Cattaneo, Keely LeFavre, Second Life Fashion, Second Life Model, Second Life Modeling by Keely LeFavre

With the recent trend in posting about photographers, it’s such a fluke that I met a new photographer this week that’s just amazing.  When I say new, I mostly mean new to me since he’s in SL since 2006 and has shot over 175 models so far.  Here’s my little story on how we met: On Wednesday, I met up with our very own DJ Azu at a housewarming party for Sabein Streeter in Costa Rica.  The house was GORGEOUS and the music had me dancing around the room.  Towards the end of the party I ran into Greg Paslong after chatting for a bit we began talking about his photography and he kindly offered to shot me.  Since I’m a complete camera-whore and relish any opportunity to have photos taken of myself I instantly agreed.

Upon entering Greg’s studio, I saw a lot of his previous work I was instantly impressed and extremely shocked I hadn’t heard of his work before.  Before he began shooting, we talked for a while about his recent projects and his inspirations.  He conveyed his desire to show models in what he said was their “complete unedited beauty”. In other words, he does not photoshop or edit photos often even so the results are STUNNING. The composition, the angels, the lighting all wonderfully thought out.  You get a strong sense of how seriously he takes his work and how passionate he is about it.  Such talent and commitment is actually fairly rare to find in SL.  So when it’s found, you can either keep it a secret or share the wealth.  Here is a small collection of the pictures we took:

If you want to have your pictures taken by Greg Paslong, Search for him in-world. He’s ususally around and loves to shoot photos.

That’s all for now…

300 Years of Fashion & Kyoot Army Sale

Posted on April 29th, 2008 in Keely LeFavre, Modavia Supermodels by Keely LeFavre

Wow! What an amazingly busy week I’ve had. After hosting the Sana Models fashion show on Saturday. I began preparing for the “300 Years of Style” Fashion show to benefit Relay for Life hosted by Lava Levasseur and Tiffany Dragonash. The show was quite a success raising $20K L for the cause.  Way to go ladies!  Here are some images from the event.

300 Years of Fashion300 Years of Fashion

After the kyoot army sale, I’ve been in embodying 1920s style.  What can I say? I was inspired.  My first look was my take on a badass female mobster.  And yes I was carrying a piece but… it got lost in the shots.

Usually, after a day or so I’m pretty much done with a look but I couldn’t seem to shake the 1920s. So, that lead me to create this second look.  I wanted more of a sexy showgirl persona and this digit darkes body suit was absolutely perfect.

Best of SL Boulevard

Posted on April 14th, 2008 in Keely LeFavre, Modavia Supermodels by Keely LeFavre

Saturday Night, I was fortunate enough to get a seat, so to speak, at the Best of SL Boulevard Launch party. It was an amazing experience that paired top SL models with amazing extremely talented singers to create a dazzling decadent sensory experience.  That was quite a mouth full simply because it was wonderful. I can’t even imagine the incredibly hard work, skill, and dedication that went into putting on such an amazing show.  All of which proceeded the “curtain drop” opening on the Boulevard.
Here are some shots of the show and featuring the models and performers.

Now, if you’re like me and enjoy shopping in visually stunning sims that have some of the best stores in SL , then the Boulevard is definitely for you.  The Boulevard features stores from some of the best designers in SL. I hesitate to mention names because I don’t want to leave anyone out and I simply can’t name them all but take my word for it. I’m definitely planning on cleaning up my landmarks folder and shopping solely at the Boulevard.

While wandering around I felt like I could have been in any sophisticated shopping district in the US. I could just envision the many I hours I would spend with friends wandering in and out of shops either shopping or not.  Below are a couple of pictures I took of this incredible sim that just screams chic. You can see me below wandering around boulevard and you should be able to tell by my size just how enormous it is.

MimiKri

Wow it’s been a while… I finally got everything set and ready for the fashion show.  I’ve got some amazing designers, hot and stellar models, and a fraking awesome DJ.  With everything set I got a little nutty, dressed up as a fairy, and went on a shopping spree!  I had been meaning to check out “Mimikri” and “Muism” so those were the first places I stopped. I know they’re both very popular stores but I’d never been there before. I know what you’re thinking “how could that be possible??” I really have no idea and I gotta say I regret not shopping there before.  I had a distinct “where have you been all my life?” feeling.  Stores with incredible clothes make me believe in love at first sight.  Well, not really.  But hopefully you get my point.

I don’t have a lot of time so I’ll get right to it.  First my “fairy” costume. This extremely cute lilac latex dress and tintable strip tights from Digit Darkes.  The very pretty wings were a freebie from the grid-wide easter egg hunt. I thought something was missing so I searched SLX and found this great ribbon that gives it just the right touch.  My hair style is a new one from Deviant Kitties called Zoie. I absolutely LOOOOVE it. I had been searching all over for a style just like this and I’m not surprised that I was able to find it at DK.  They have great innovative hairstyles a definite must for fashionistas.

Fairy Keely

This next outfit is entirely from Mimikri.  Unfortunately since I can’t login to SL I don’t know the exact name of the outfits BUT it is all from Mimikri and it wouldn’t hurt you to just look around the whole store.
MimikriMimikri

Ok that’s it for me for now. I’m going to attempt to log back in because i saw an AMAZING outfit from Caliah that i MUST have on Flickr. So i need to attempt to find it.

We Are Modavia

I want you all to take a seat, grab on to something sturdy, calm the butterflies in your stomach and brace yourself. Why?  Because on March 20th the Modavia Designer’s Brief was launched marking the official launching of Modavia and the fashion world is going to quake.  I know everyone has heard whispers and there have been theories and the general consensus is that Modavia is just a modeling agency.  NOTHING could be further from the truth.  Modavia is SL’s FIRST Fashion directory.  It’s a directory featuring the best, the who’s who of the fashion world.  The most creative, innovative, popular designers and the most versatile, unique and sought-after models are featured all in this one place. Now I can’t give too much away even though it’s killing me, but I’ve been able to secure everyone a seek peek as to what a designer brief looks like.  You can only see this here. So get ready, get set, and….

(Excuse the quality of these pics I had to copy them)

Designer Brief P1Designer Brief P2Designer Brief p3Designer Brief p4Designer Brief p5Designer Brief p6Designer Brief P7

Ok, how hot do Barberella Fousing and Nicholai Shepard look in that pic?  Oh my GAWD it’s even getting hot in here.

Now one important announcement that we received at the launch party was the procurement of the illustrious, sensational, and innovative Christieanna Daviau as our new PR Director.  This is quite a coup for Modavia since Christieanna is sought after by most of the top agency and designers and for good reason.  She throws the best parties in SL, is an incredible person, an amazing photographer, and she’s done marketing for some of the most successful companies. We are truly lucky to have her talents exclusively.

I know I speak for all my Modavia “siblings’ when I say that I feel incredibly honored and privileged to be a part of Modavia.

Costa Rica - Freebies

Posted on March 16th, 2008 in Modavia Supermodels by Keely LeFavre

If you missed the launch party Costa Rica Shopping District, you missed a collective mix of models and designers, artists and art lovers. It was a blast.   But if you couldn’t make it to the launch party, don’t fret! It’s not too late to visit the art festival featuring truly amazing original art work from some ultra-talented SL artists.   And a tip, if you’re a model you should try to get some of these artists to do your portfolios, adding that extra artistic touch is a great way to get noticed. And bonus, you get beautiful artwork to hang around your house.
So, you say art is not your thing.  How about some awesome freebies then?  To celebrate the launch of the new Costa Rica shopping district some of my favorite designers have placed some gifts in their stores.  Here are some pics of the outfits.
