Second Life Fashion Models The Modavia Supermodels

Modavia would like to congratulate several of our Modavia SuperModels who were asked to participate in RUNWAY Magazine’s 2008 Bridal Revue.

RUNWAY’s Bridal Review - the Bridal event of the year - will be held this Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 5 pm SLT. The show will feature 19 of the top SL models including Modavia SuperModels: Summer Deadlight, Cherie Parker, Giela Delpaso, Ally Geer, Poptart Lilliehook and Payton Heron!

The show will include bridal designs from Jessie Jensen, Kimmera Madison, Lapointe & Bastchild, LeeZu Baxter Designs, Lillee Rochefort, Madison Winthorpe, Miko Omegamu, Nonna Hedges, Pinkdiamond Peel, Sascha Frangilli, Sissy Pessoa, Styles of Edo, VictoriaV McMillan, and Vindi Vindaloo, as well as shoes, hair and accessories by Enkythings, Tigerlily Koi, Petal Meg, and Zhao Shoes.

In addition to Modavia Supermodel Ronnie Hastings participation in Fashion Expo 2008, three additional models from this talented group were selected to participate; the lovely Payton Heron, everyone’s favorite Supermodel kitty Miss Summer Deadlight, and myself, Anessa Stine. We, alongside some of the best and brightest walkers around, made our way to the Expo Runway this morning to strut our stuff in some amazing one-of-a-kind creations. Despite one or two of the sims around the runway going offline and momentarily displacing some of our guests, the show was a success and a great deal of fun for all involved. Special thanks to Autumn Fairlane who gave voice to this event amidst chaos.

The three amazing garments I was privileged to model were (L-R) the TESLA ‘Slither’ Athena Boots, the LVS & Co. ‘Believe’ Gown and Indyra Originals ‘Lorraine’ Dress (full outfit credits to follow). The items are still up for grabs at the site of the auction, here. Auction will remain open until Monday evening, so hop on over and take a look if you are curious about the dozens of amazing one-of-a-kind items available.

The cherry on the top of all of today’s events is the open voting to find ‘Fashion Expo 2008’s Top Model‘,  also until Monday evening, the voting is taking place at the event stage and you can vote as often as you like for any of the models who participated by clicking and paying our photographs. Votes will cost 1L each, the Model who collect the most votes… all proceeds going to RFL… will get the coveted title and some nice goodies from event participants. If you are so inclined voting is taking place here.

The Modavia Team would like to congratulate two of our fabulous male models on their recent accomplishments.

Our very own Salvo Waydelich (Pictured Left) was recently named SL Mr. World! I don’t know about you guys but I think I’m going to rename him Salvo Way- Delicious!

Modavia SuperModel Nicholai Shepherd was the winner of ALTAMODA’s Coverboy contest and appeared on the front cover of June 2008 ALTAMODA Magazine (below) and was featured in a exclusive interview. Nicholai also appeared on the front cover of the May 2008 Issue of RUNWAY Magazine and also featured in The Edge fashion article of the magazine.

Okay again I am at JCNY CONTEST, this time called my atention the sponsors and how the contest is being hold.

The MODEL’FEST is aN industry leading Model Summit sponsored by the top designers in
Second Life. - JCNY, Nicky Ree, Styles of Edo, Best of SL Magazine, Apple May, LR.

They choose eatch week models for SHOWCASE at the runway, and at the end of the month the winner will be announce and will get 30,000L Cash and Prize Pool and gift certificates from MODEL’FEST Sponsors.

Monday 28.04.08 

This week as been truly remarkable for me and my career in SL! I kick started the week by ordering new parts for my custom built PC this will make my experience and performance in SL much more better and performance wise smoother. Hopefully the days of lag for me on the runway should be gone with the beast I have just built, which includes a overclocked Quad-Core Q6600 CPU @ 3.40Mhz and a 512Mb GeForce 8800GT Graphics Card & OCZ (Nvidia SLi Ready) DDR2 PC2-8500 1066Mhz 1GB X 2 Memory overclocked @ 1140Mhz!! So this was a birthday present for myself and I believe a very good one lol

Wednesday 30.04.08

So it was my RL birthday on Wednesday April 30th woooot Yeah 21 again !!! I had a great day thank you to all that attended my surprise birthday party I was totally surprised!! Maylee my girlfriend (I love you so much baby) planned my surprise party and designed the venue which I must add was fantastic !! Thank you to all that made this a surprise for me and made my birthday a memorable occasion “wow you guys gave me a great bash! Thank you!”

 Thursday 01.05.08

This was another fanastic day for me as I was selected by MOlly Dench CEO of RUNWAY Magazine  to model the creative gothic fashions of LaPointe & Bastchild. I was hired through my modeling agency MAD Agency Modeling along with my partner for the modeling shoot the beautiful EMMz Tzara. Photographer for the shoot was Vera Canning one of SL most noted photographers. She makes any picture come alive with her majestic play on light and shadow, and her great choice of locations also add to the theatrical aura within the pictures. The modeling session was such a great day and Vera Canning made the job of posing such fun I have never had such a great time modeling. This all added to the finished article the photos were amazing and MOlly Dench was so overwhelmed by the quality of the pictures me and EMMz Tzara can be seen on the front cover of May’s edition of RUNWAY Magazine!!!

Sunday 04.05.08

Well my week was going so well everyday I was knocked back by more and more fantastic achievements within my world in SL. A world which I treasure so much for its forever changing user experiences within different sims and ways to make your life more fruitful by editing apperances and buying and designing clothes and fashion accessories. The limits to SL are endless and I try to use as much of what I can when I can. So I was amazed yet again when on Sunday 04.05.08 I found out that I won Ewing Fashion Agencies AltaModa Magazine Covergirl & Coverboy competition LOL Woooot!! OMG So when I got the IM from Una Ewing informing that I was the guy selected to appear on the front cover of AltaModa Magazine my face was a picture of excitment and amazement. I could not believe my luck what a fantastic week for Nicholai Shepherd.

I am to appear on the next issue of AltaModa Magazine along with Covergirl Haruka Kish a friend and fellow model/blogger @ FACES Modeling Agency. Our photographer was the fantastic Simone Alva who was a great guy and made my experience so much fun! Thank you Simone “Your The Man!” My clothes for the cover shot were a pair of beach short in aqua blue. Haruka also wore a swimsuit with a flower behind her ear as I believe the scene for the picture was dreamed up by Una Ewing from a music video scene by Gwen Stefani lol The background I did not see as we were shot in a studio location within a green room.

Was a pleasure to model all last week as MFA SHOWCASE Model with MODA MODELING SCHOOL, their equip is realy amazing and realy worked hard to put toguether all the designs in the runway show that happend everyday from 7pm slt to 10pm slt. hi all at least i decided to write some of me im Salvo Waydelich born on 24/04/2007 a nice spring night…im from Italy , Milan the city of Fashion.
 It is  so easy for me to  like it; fashion is fantasy, is creativity, is great things to see and I love all of  it. I started as a  model out of curiosity and won a contest during a catwalk. In my  carreer i have had the experience and honour to have my pics exposed at Funky  Art Gallery and  “Eyes”  exposition at Fantazy  Images Art Gallery  and also did a runway experience Catwalk Angels event on little italy world. I beacame  Modavia Supermodel and is great be part of family. I work also for CalamityHaute Model agencyans Sana and Premiere agency.
Well as a good and true  Italian I love football(soccer) and I am  the coach of a team, I like to get to know new people,go dancing and shopping…I like to wear the casual style…..and
I am an Italian mafia man…so be careful..don’t touch me..

OK, so this may seem a strange followup to my previous post that was all positive, but there was a notice that went over Runway Kidz modelling support group about a certain person on SL by the name of Fia Bonetto who was charging people to become ‘Certified Models’. Below is a copy of the Notecard that went out to the group and is unedited by me in anyway.

Certified Model SL

My name is Fia Bonetto. I´m the owner of the group Certified Models SL.
As You problaby know the fashionbusiness in Second Life has developed under the recent years with increasing quality and quantity. However there is also a fact that the qualityissues is more and more in focus because of higher demands from the business. In Second Life there are lots of modelagencys with different way of hiring models. The standards of the models are very different and with this initative we give the business a new way to assure good quality. The agencys can make less effort in checking up applicances and the employers can get a quick confirmation by the certifying that the models have certain standards making them more suitable for the job.

Becoming a Certified Model SL demands the following basic level. The group can also help out those who hasn´t reached the basiclevel with support in customizing etc.

1. A welldeveloped avatar, female or male, with exclusive quality in shape, skin, hair and so on.

2. Basic knowledge about the modellingbusiness, how to act on stage and under photosessions etc.

3. A nice and sophisticated way of being and good english languageknowledge. Additional competence in language is most positive!

If You pass the qualificationprocedure You will get a membership in our group and the cost for the procedure and ackreditation is 350 linden.
The reason for charging is also the goal to keep this certifying exclusive to a low number (200 members max and then a waitinglist) of really highquality models. As long as youre a member in the group you should provide a weekly tip of minimum 100 linden. This way we can for example arrange our own beautycontests with greater chances of winning greater amounts of pricemoney. And we know these contests isn´t rigged….:)

Anyway upon the uproar this caused in the RK chat, it appeared that a few members had gone to confront Fia about what exactly she was  charging people for as her claims she knows all the top agencys etc etc seemed a little far fetched. So anyway I receive a tp into this office space not knowing what was really going on. As soon as the chats appeared on my screen I could see other models demanding an explanation about what it took to become a ‘Certified model’. However just like the dodgy mechanics and the like who ripoff customers you see on current affair programs it appeared that Fia didn’t want to talk to us about the claims she was making in this NC. So she ended up going to away status and eventually timing out as the working SL models set about asking for answers. A few then proceeded to leave her messages to her offline mailbox, while HarMonica IMd some girl whose pic was on the wall trying to scope out whether Fia had actually managed to con money from people, and this was the IM she received.

Anyway, I just thought I would sound a warning to the SL fashion community that scammers like this shouldn’t be tolerated and also to show that  there are people who won’t stand for this type of predatory behaviour. If you have any queries about any place in SL feel free to IM me and I will let you know what I know about it or I will be able to guide you to someone who knows. Below are some pics of the office, and you can see the culprit (I wasn’t quick enough to get a pic of her being away as I ended up crashing as more models were showing up) and also a few of the victims who paid money.You can also see a donation box which had over $2000l placed in it, which shows how sad this scam really is as people actually paid money for the whole ‘Certified Model’ title.
